I dont think the non Rockford headunit has rca inputs. Thats what you usually want to use for a sub+amp. It can be done with out using rca cables though...

Wouldnt you need to use the line convertor to convert the rear speaker signal for the subs?

How about one of the Pioneer AVIC Z3 double din headunits. You get Bluetooth, Nav, Traffic, DVD, music storage, voice recognition, touch screen etc. and it will bolt into the same place as MMCS. Then add an amp, sub, speakers. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/In-Dash/AVIC-Z3

ORIGINAL: nodnarb85 I have an 07 LS without the rockford fosgate and everything and was contemplating adding a sub without changing out the headunit. Any recomendations? i did this and it went well for a couple of months youll need a line output converter (LOC) so that the stereo can connect to a standard aftermarket amplifier (most of them use RCA inputs), OR choose an amp that can accept high level inputs (aka your stereo's speaker outputs) which there arent many there are a coupkle of good inexpensive LOCs out there...Phoenix Gold SLD44, AudioControl LC6, and Scoche offers some and SoundGate also offers some BUT id go with the above 2 of course there are the high end LOCS like JL Audio, RF, JBL and the like...but its all am matter what your goal is now if this is not what you had in mind and simply just wan a sub, research the Infinity Basslink T its a self amplified subwoofer system thats built handsomely and accepts speaker inputs, its not too bulky and all youll have to do is hook it up here's a link: http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BASSLINK%20T&cat=BSL&ser=BSL&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA
