Hi all,

I work at a hospital and parked my car a little too close to the antenna near one of the buildings and I suppose this caused my key fob to go out of wack.

I returned at home and proceeded to attempt to reprogram this busted key using the instructions in the manual. I can't seem to get it to work; After the first couple steps, after releasing the buttons, it says that the car should lock and unlock as a sign of the programming mode of the car being enabled. I can't get this to happen, which means that I'm not able to program the key that stopped functioning.

I'm following the instructions perfectly and it isn't working. Has anyone done this yet? Is there a "trick" to it? If anyone has any help or tips, please let me know!

I don't see how parking too close to an antenna could scramble programming of a key fob. there is rf everywhere. a dealer can reprogram the fob using the medic (mitsubishis scanner/laptop)

I hate to sound "obvious", but have you checked the battery in the keyfob?  It might have just drained somehow (perhaps by a malfunction).  Does your other keyfob work?  I recall that reprogramming requires you to have BOTH keys in your possesion, so if one of them isn't working, I doubt you could program either one.

When you cycle the key in the ignition back and forth, you need to do it with both keys I believe. Then after that to get your F.O.B. to work again just cycle one key but try pushing the buttons on both fobs at the same time and this may do it.
