Transfer Case Drain Plug ??

  

mototools -> Transfer Case Drain Plug ?? (5/24/2008 6:56:31 AM)

Hello,

I want to change the transfer case gear oil (yes, GL-4) on  my 2005 Montero Limited, but I only see one plug on side of the transfer case and I assume this is the fill plug.  Don't see a drain plug anywhere?  Do you suction out the oil via the fill plug?

Rob, is there a bolt on the bottom of the transfer case?  That''s the best placement for the most efficient drain.
