Now that we're successful in patching the software used in the MMCS navigation system for the NR-261UM and NR-261EM used on the Lancer & Outlander, what kind of features do you want to see added/changed?

Here's a TODO list so far:
  • DVD Video in motion [patched NR-261UM NR-261EM]
  • AUX Video in motion [in progress]
  • Navi disclaimer screen disabled [in progress]
  • MP3 Playback from DVD and/or directly from HDD
  • Force "Manual" reset mode for average speed and MPG indicator
  • "Smarter" backlight brightness modes
  • DVD Region Free
  • Ability to use any hard drive (and larger capacity for music server)
  • Prevent HDD from being locked
  • "Advanced" GPS Status screen, with GPS altitude and GPS Speed display
  • View reverse camera at times when not in "Reverse"
  • Add "missing" RDS feature to USA models

How about a list of what is possible?

I for one wouldn't mind being able to 'flip a few bits' on some options I want then update.  For me the DVD playing is a take it or leave it option.  But the OK button would be great, along with fixing the bug with the display brightness.

Perhaps a template or xml file we could just enable/disable options?

(or am I asking for to much)

... and thanks for all the effort it is appreciated.

Looked into this earlier : its about 2 days work to disassemble, mark-up and track down the call.

Will look into this once the other two are done ..

Also : A description of what you're after would be useful - please remember I don't have one of these units : I'm basically working from touch here .. :)

How about disable the auto reset for mileage

I think thats a "feature" of the car's ECU (probably the ETACS ECU).  A workaround, however, is each time the MMCS boots up, send the CAN-bus signal to switch to "Manual" mode.

I can certainly help you out with that (via e-mail if its easier).  I know the MMCS very well from the user's perspective.  What kinds of things do you look for when "debugging" the dissassembled code w/o any hardware?  Do screenshots help?

fixing the bug with the display brightness.

What is this bug?  I've not come across it.

One thing I've always found annoying is no way to force a bright screen when I drive in the daytime with my lights on.

My list of modifications that I would like to have in the MMCS are:

- RES video in motion
- Time in format of 24 hours,
- Visualizes simultaneously, longitude, latitude and altitude in the same screen
- In the screen where the altitude visualizes, to replace info "ALTITUDE" with the inside temperature, if it will possible
- Dimming of the screen when light position turn on, MANUAL activacion, no AUTO
- Active TV function on MODE screen
- Option to activate the camera of reversa at any time
- ELIMINATE REESTRICTION 99 SONGS PER PLAYLIST
- The possibility of edit name to the radio stations; at the moment only it shows the number of frequency. . .
- The possibility of RDS

I'm not sure if this is the same as Aux-in-Motion, but I would like to be able to view my back-up camera while driving. Mine is hardwired into the MMCS per the rdennis instructions. The only time it comes on right now is if I am in reverse.
