I was driving home from work the other day and my started sputtering when i started to excelerate. I pulled over and to check it out and coolant started pouring out but not from the reservoir or the radiator but from an area just above my oil filter. I think its the water pump, can someone tell me if im right or wrong? And if it is the water pump how hard is it to fix myself?

Changing the water pump is kind of annoying. If you feel confident changing a timing belt, then you should be able to change the pump.

Just out of curiosity, have you done your 60k service? You need to change the timing belt, tensioner, water pump all together. If you cheaped out and decided not to change the pump, that could be why. You need to do that every 60k.
