Hey im just wondering which box will sound best in the back of my hatch?  I put 2 Concept 10''s in a sealed box in my wife''s Grand Am and they THUMP.  Would a sealed box be better than a ported for my hatchback? Im going to run either  2 12 Infinity Refrences, or Audiopipes. I dont want to go bandpass because of the lesser sound quality. Just Stumped between sealed vs ported... Opinions please

sealed will get you tighter bass, but not as much volume. ported will get you more volume, but less defenition. for 10''s, i''m with dusty, go sealed.

Think about what it is doing. With a vented box, the diaphragm will be able to flex in and out more, and will take more time to return to its rested position. With a sealed box, it is pushing against the air in the box, and forced to stay in place. The end result is much crisper bass, and it packs more of a punch.

all depends on what you listen to and what you''re going for. if you listen to any sort of rock or country, sealed is best. if you listen to rap or hip hop, ported is better. there''s all kinds of factors that go into the design of a quality audio system.
