i just bought the car tonite. with known problems. its a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse spyder gs-t. the motor has been swapped in the car. not sure exactly what it is maybe someone can figure out by the pics. im only getting spark on cylinders 1 and 4 though. car runs but runs really really rough. anybody have any ideas? i was told to check the coil pack, which i will be replacing tomorrow. other than that any other things that would cause this problem? im also not sure which coil pack to get. i went to autozones website and coulnt find one that looked anything like it.

If the car runs at all, that means you must be getting some spark, because the car cant run on even 3 cylinders.

CONFIRM that they aren''t firing... because that makes no sense.

If its running ****ty, check the timing, check/replace spark plugs and wires.

cam postion sensor maybe....its not even there. there is however a removable rubber plug where the sensor goes. it seems like the car is going into some kind of weird mode. it will start the first time firing only on cylinders 1 and 4 but if it dies i have to disconnect the battery in order to get it to start back up.
