Didnt know where else to put this. So if it needs to be moved please do so.

Well I just got my license suspended so I wanted to take the time to find a different car.

First off my car:
2000 Eclipse RS
Salvage title
5 spd
138k miles
crack in front bumper
was told it needs a fast air idle valve (not sure if i got the correct)

Guy wants to trade me:
http://madison.craigslist.org/car/724229884.html
95 eagle talon tsi fwd
auto
6 bolt
he told me he would put the engine in for me
dent in driver door

This is a good deal for me right? Even tho I hate the automatic. My car is still a salvage title and not many people will take that.

he says he doesnt have any place to put the engine in at... and does he have any more pictures than just those two? i would look around man, i think you''d have a better deal just selling your car, maybe saving up a bit before hand, and getting a car you really want

I will request more pics.  It''s not like I hate the car, I just prefer 5 speed but I can live with auto, and I like the talons looks alot more than my 3g. But the only problem I have is that I dont get any offers on my car because its a salvage title. The only offer I got was like $1600 and I just ignored the guy.

And yes I read that he had no place to put it in at so im not sure how he is doing it but I told him I wouldn''t trade unless it was running.

I thought in the post it says the car is running with an 8X, XXX motor in it and he was "planning" no doing a 6 bolt swap...why would he be doing it anyway unless he thought there was something wrong with the original motor...idk sounds kinda strange to me.

and what is with everyone getting their license suspended on here? haha

young kids driving like a bunch of retards half the time john that is the reason so many people are getting the license''s suspended.  I think there have only been a few odd situations that made no sence other than that I noticed that most people on here have like 2+ speeding tickets on their records some have alot of them.  and alot of people (like you lol) have like a million accidents too.  I love having a clean record and that cheap insurance.  I prob pay less for the supra than like everyone on here hahaha.

on topic something sound fishy about this deal.  not sure I would but then again your car is salvaged.  I mean I dont know why anyone would make a trade for a salvaged car esspecially one that isnt worth anything no offence

None taken. I know its not worth much thats why I am considering this trade. He said he was looking for a good running car and thats what mine is even tho its salvage.

Here is his recent add, it explains it a little better:
http://madison.craigslist.org/car/728644913.html

There is 81,000 on body, 80,000 on 6 bolt thats not in yet. No engine in the car at the moment.

I requested more pictures, is there anything else I should ask or make sure I look at when I check it out?

if the guy is going to put the motor in, i would do it. you have a salvaged car with quite  abit of miles on it....you wont get much out of it if you sold it anyways.

so why not trade up to a faster car with lower miles....they are both worth about the same.

i dont know why the guy on craigs list did this though "1992 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo awd aws for this car so no LOWBALLING ME!!" was he not content?

i still wouldnt trust someone that is willing to do a swap which he doesnt even have time to even do for himself...who knows how well the work will be done, your better off trying to get it even cheaper and having the motor done right and put in yourself. idk, sounds like more of a project car buy, rather than trying to buy for a DD...thats just my opinion

Ya I know what your saying, I will probably ask if he is putting it in or having someone put it in for him.  How much would it cost to have an engine put in roughly?

The talon looks really clean and TE make a good point how do u know how good of a job he''ll do when he''s just gonna dump it.  I would trade only if its in really good running condition.
