I am going to be on a roadtrip with about 2300 miles. Of course, I want to take care of the Outtie, but should I put painter''s tape on the front sections of the car to protect from bugs and rocks? Is it not necessary?? I will be gone for about a week and a half and may reapply the tape during the middle of the trip.

Nothing compares to the protection of the 3M Starshield

Looked on the starshield website, and they didn''''t have anything for the Outlander. Tried calling them, but was about 5 minutes too late, they close at 5. I will call back tomorrow!

Sebba you have the starshield on your lotus? How much did it cost? How long was installation??

Also, is there some more information on that hood protector? I didn''t see an image on that link. Maybe I missed it though.

It''s actually my brothers car, and yes there is a starsheild on it. I believe the Lotus one costed about $200 bucks. It also has a lifetime guarentee against yellowing or anything like that.

You don''t need to get one specifically for you car. You could simply buy sheets of 3M clear vinyl and DIY. Nobody can tell its even there, and it provides bad ass protection
