I have a 2001 Galant ES 4-cylinder. Would it be better for me to get a custom made exhaust, or go for a pre-made cat back exhaust? My problem is that I am going to be getting headers too, and I can either buy them with or without a mid-pipe. If I buy it with the mid-pipe I will get custom exhaust, but if I buy the pre-made exhaust, I can just get the headers alone. The difference in price would be that the pre-made with the headers would be alot more than just getting the custom and the headers w/ mid-pipe. Now, is it worth it to pay that much more, and what would be the performance outcome be for each, and what would the headers give me? Thanks.

power wise....depends on your modifications. exhaust sys' usually puts out 6-10 hp's. header about 3-5hp's. and again, depends on your mods. a pre made system is better than custom made, that is because no welds, just straight bolt ons install. you will spend a lot of money for the pre-made. ...but if ya'h in a budget, stick w/ custom exhaust.

I think I am going to go with the pre-made exhaust, found one for a decent price, just gotta wait for the money to come. Headers will wait for a while.

Keep in mind last I heard they didn't make an actual cat back for the Galant. You can use a 3G Eclipse catback but your going to have to add piping towards the rear. If they now make one what company is this?
