OK, so I bought a slightly used ''07 Outlander LS with 11,000 miles on it from a nearby dealership.  I understand that I won''t receive the 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty since I didn''t buy it new...but I should still get the 5 year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper & powertrain warranties.  Now, I''ve never owned a car new enough to receive a warranty.  I received the warranty manual/booklet along with the Outtie, but should I be receiving something like a receipt or something to prove that it is warrantied or is it just implied?  I plan on keeping all receipts for service work and whatnot, but I can''t prove that the work was done on it for its first 11,000 miles.  Forgive my naivety in this matter.  Has anyone else bought a used Outtie and fall into this situation?

Thanks!

you be fully covered for the power train warranty as long as you have the cars serviced by a mitsubishi dealer.  I have know 4th and 5th owners claiming on powertrain warranty at 75k.  The warranty should be fully transferable.

I was told that it didn''t have to necessarily be a Mitsubishi Dealership that services my car, as long as I keep the records (this was told to me BY the Mitsubishi dealership).  The closest Mitsu dealer is an hour away!

You should still get the powertrain and bumper to bumper, it dosent matter if your the original owner or not.  Also make sure you keep all the service records and no major aftermarket add ons.

OK, good...thanks!  I wasn''t sure if I should have been expecting something in the mail or not.  I plan on keeping all service records (when I traded in my Eclipse, I gave the dealer a folder with all the receipts for everyone I had done on the car...hopefully he will pass that on to the new owner).  I also don''t really plan on modifying it.  Thanks again!

but if i were you, i would take it to Mitsu for serious work such as timing belt replacements and so on.
cause they can always come back to you and tell you to frig off it something happens to your engine after you get it replaced by a non Mitsu dealership.
