Its a dual ball bearing turbo, and I have a motor that is built to handle 9k rpm shifts..  I think I wont have a problem with spooling the thing up before I need to shift..  Besides, you can reach 400 hp with a 16g turbo, but your turbo wont last as long..  I dont know how true this may be, but I believe if I have a bigger turbo that can handle more, the longer the lifespan of the turbo will be.   If Im constantly maxing out a turbo at 500 hp I dont think the turbo will hold up as long as I would like.    I would like more than 500, but thats what im shooting for realistically..  I would always like room to grow if I can.

But the FP3065 is a lil over the top. Going a step smaller, you still won''t be pushing the max.

youll still get and ass raping from lag.  The Evo did get full boost on a 50trim for me untill 4100 or so and I was pulling to 8k and trust me that was pretty damn laggy and annoying at times.  I never understood why anyone wanted 5k worth of lag and not getting 600+HP.   I always laughed when 50trim Evos and FPgreen Evos were smoking 35r evos just because the spool of 1000RPMs difference (or more with the green).  On top of that 500WHP on race gas is easy for the 50trim (you wont max it out that often be realistic,  you will not want to run straight c16 all the time)  On pump a 50trim will get you 400-415WHP without batting an eye.

You know its bad when going from a 2nd gear 20 mph roll a civic gets a jump ahead for a split second because your waiting on the snail to wake up (that happend to me twice)

I say go with just slightly smaller turbo.  I mean why go way overkill?  that is like going stage 3 BR block and head and shep drivetrain to only at 16G levels,  why?

Thats just my .02

yea that makes sense... first off ur right if you''re more conservative on ur turbo then of course it''s going to last longer. but the lag will be ridiculous, even if you rev it up to 9k

Turbos dont go bad that easy.  yea 400HP 16G will.  but that is like a stock 6bolt bottom end making 450WHP it will do it but not long.  garret turbos and others are ''built'' per say.  I mean 500HP on a 50trim is not that big of a deal.  its like 500HP on a built bottom end it can handle it.

plus the car wont be your daily.  I mean in 3 months I have just put 1000 miles on the supra.  That is it lol.  and it comes out every nice weekend

500 at the wheels with a 50 trim?   I thought they were only good for about 450..

the .48 a/r is but the .63a/r make just over 500 at the wheels.   the highest Evo dyno on a 50trim made 534AWHP.

Mine was the .63 and BB
