So I''m definately a rookie, I don''t even have a car yet!  But I am pretty set on an eclipse and I was just wondering from all the guys (an girls) with experience with these cars, whant year is the best as far as reliablility, quality, etc. if there is much of a difference. I am pretty set on 2000-2003 (3rd gen. I think?) so out of those years. Also, any reccomendation on prices and best places to buy.  I look forward to talking about it on this site!

Personally, I am not a fan of the 3rd gens. Not for any specific reason, it''s just the styling. I think its fugly lol.

As far as quality and reliability goes, the 3rd gens are pretty good. It really all comes down to:

A) The newer the better
B) What you prefer in terms of style
C) The budget

Id go with a 00 GT (v6). Good on gas..and still a pretty reliable motor. 6g72 will last with proper maintnence. You can also make them fairly decent speed wise.
