You could swap some T3/T4 turbos in there because they are almost the same size as the stock turbos and they can produce more boost(trust me I did it)

Oh yes I know that there are upgrades however there are limits to it. the t3\t4 can push what? 27ish maybe a lil more? on a 4G63 you can go with something and throw 30+ at the motor if its built right.

I'm pretty sure they can push 28p.s.i. And I agree the Eclipse has more boosting potential(I have one, a GSX) but the 3000(I had one, but seized due to overboosting) also has potential to be fast just not as much because of the limitations with turbo upgrades due to space and also the extra 800lbs. They are both Mitsu's so I like both. I prefer the 3000 mainly because of the looks and the 6 speed gearbox on the VR-4 model that I had, but for speed you cant beat the Eclipse(I just installed a T66 last night)

i dont think you saying that your engine seized from boosting 15lbs justifies it being a weak engine. what do you mean by seized? engines seize from lack of oil, not high boost. Maybe if you blew a head gasket or something, but i doubt hardly anyone has every had problems boosting 15lbs on a 3000gt

The night before I was racing a STi(cranked it up to 17 and a week before that set it to 20p.s.i to race a civic) These were pretty long distance races. Also I never said the 6G72 had a strong block it is only aluminum compared to the 4G63 Cast Iron. It is pretty weak in comparison. My engine blew its head gasket when I was driving it then I heard a pretty loud noise and a fat cloud of black smoke came out of the tail pipe and it dropped rpms kinda quick so I put it in neutral and it died and wouldnt start back up. I took out the engine a week after that with my dad who is a ASE certified technician and we took it apart he told me it was seized.

the oil feed line on the turbo also popped off so I guess it really wasnt from over boosting it broke because the oil was just coming out.

And I thought the 3000GT ran 14PSI stock. my buddies did and his was bone stock w\ only a boost gauge.. And 6G72TT is not better than the 4G63. yes the 3000 is fat and it also has no room in the engine bay. where as a 1G 2G EVO GalantVR4 all have plenty of room and can fit much larger turbos. There are EVO VIIIs now running 9s and throwing down 700+ AWHP that is alot out of a 4cyl.

It does and that is why I was ****in amazed i was 1 p.s.i over so I called it over boosting but I think the 20 that I was running did the most damage and obviously the oil line coming off. I know the 3000 isnt Mitsu's fastest car but it is still my favorite, I dont want to really run 9's I was happy with my 3000's 12's. I dont own a 3000 anymore I own a GSX and since I have owned both cars I can honestly say that the Eclipse is the faster car and the 3000 is more of a daily driver and weekend racer. All I wanted out of my 3000 was to be able to beat a lightly modded STi and I did so I was happy. But my goal with my GSX is to beat corvettes I havent raced one yet but if I see the opportunity I am definately going to try to race one. See I set higher goals for the Eclipse because I know it has more potential. When I said the 3000 was better than the Eclipse I meant stock vs stock and you have to agree that stock the 3000 is faster.
