What you are feeling, is the MIVEC. It changes the valve timing slightly to give you more power, better throttle response, and that roar.

Nothing wrong there, just a ''sporty'' feature, enjoy it

Thanks for you reply!

I am not usually sensitive to the engine noises, but it was quite a noticable change of the "roar". It suddenly went from smooth roar to more louder "roar". Could it be possible that "roar" changed once the engine is broken in?

Are you talking about 2.4L/CVT or V6? I noticed quite a change past the 5000 km. Idle got quieter, start off the line improved a bit. My hearing is weak anyways, but compared to Suzuki XL7 (3.6 V6 engine) - 2.4 Mitsu is a whisper especially at high rev.

Try comparing quazi-manual  and auto mode, I figure that throttle response is quite dependent on the weather conditions as well... pls see next post
