Does anyone know what % our factory tint is? I want to match my front ones with the factory tinted back ones.

15% only? It looks at least 30%.

My ES came with the privacy glass on the back and rear windows, but when I had the front windows tinted they had to be lighter since Arizona law only allows 35% in the front.  Before tinting you may want to check local laws.  If the front tint is too dark here in AZ, they can make you take it off, or even fine you.

One other thing.  When you say 15%, thats the amount of light thats let in.  So a 15% tint would be darker than a 35%.  Its kind of backwards from what you would think.

could be 15% light admittance then.
when i went to get my tails tinted i asked the guy at the tint shop and he told me by law the cars come stock with 15% only. sure looks dark enough to be 15% light admittance only as opposed to 15% darker than stock.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought the higher %, the darker the tint. I just came back from the shop and the guy said Japanese cars are different then domestic cars % wise. He said our factory tint is more like 20%. I went with 35% instead of 15% because it would look silly if the front ones were darker then the back ones.

I heard somewhere it was 18% and that most factory tinted cars are 18%, but I don''t know for sure on the Outtie. I got my fronts done @ 20% not knowing they were 18 or 15% and they are a bit lighter, and also the color is slightly off. :(

I have been wanting to get my fronts tinted but have read the seals are too tight on the front windows, thus peeling off the tint when rolling the windows up/down. Is this still true?
