Hello all,
Just purchased a 07 Outlander XLS( Lab Black pearl ext. / black premuim cloth int.) and must say I am very impressed with the vehicle so far. I Got a great price for it at a Mitsu dealership($2500 below resale blue book) which made the Mrs. and I even happier. It is used with 10,700 miles on it.

Anyway, the truck does have a couple scratches on it and in it. I tried to look for the paint code which people said would be on the innner door jamb drivers side. The only thing I could see was a 4 letter code written in black paint on a white sticker. Problem is the code, if it is the code for the paint is not legible.

Do all lab. black pearl 07 outlanders have the same paint code? If so, could someone share what the code is.
For any interior scratch in the plastic, what would anyone recommend for repairing the scratch back to a proper color?
Thanks so much for any info that would help.

Canam

As for the plastic interior - if it is a textured plastic than really hard to deal with and remove the scratch. Buffing it will only make the spot more noticeable.

You may try some fine tip brush and epoxy or glue pre-mixed with the same colour compatible colourant - it will be some experimenting for you. The tricky part is to get the glue stick to this kind of plastic, so you may want to use some solvent as an additive to this composition. The ultimate way is to get the part replaced with new.

The colour code should be the same for all alike outlanders of the same year, ask the parts guy from the dealer of call/email mitsubishi motors having your VIN # ready.

I would ask the dealer to do the repairs free of charge.  What dealer sends a nearly new car with paint damage? its worth a try and you could get it done free depending how long you have had the car i.e less than 48hours-7days max.

I am sure the dealer wants to keep a good name.

Most dealer''s can just repair the scratch rather then the whole panel
