  1. I recently noticed that my back up/reverse lights stopped working. A while ago the passenger side light would go out and if i replaced the bulb, it would work again. Just recently, they both went out and wont work anymore. Ive replaced both bulbs and replaced the fuse, still doesnt work. There seems to be voltage getting back to the bulbs so that''s why im confused. I was told it might be a switch on the transmission that sends the signal when the car is in reverse. Please help, anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem? Thanks.

Just replaced the back up light switch on my transmission and back up lights still dont come on, wtf? The old switch looked pretty beat up on the bottom side, the part that goes inside the tranny so i thought that was going to fix the problem, but it didnt. Im curious if maybe im doing soemthing wrong, becuase at first i put the new switch in nice and snug, and i wasnt even able to get the car into reverse, or 5th gear, and so i had to loosen it up a little bit, then i was able to but it was still really stiff shifting to 5th gear and into reverse. So i loosened it up even more, to just about finger tight, and it shifts smooth again, but still no reverse lights. WIres look ok, bulbs are new and fuses are good. Someone told me to have the body control module checked? Anyone have any info on that, or any other suggestions? please help, thanks. Chris.
