Ok, So I just became the owner of a 2001 spyder GS, my boyfriend has a stock SRT-4 but a 2005, I realize that is a lost cause to even dream about beating him even with some engine work. I would like to know exactly how much hrspwr I have b/c I've heard 147 but it has varied. I would also appreciate help in decided whether 209$ for a cool air intake for the GS is too much, I think for a 5 horse boost it isn't but I do it if I could a cheaper one that wasn't crappy. Thanks!

ok Yes the GS is 147(at the crank) the GS is only around 110 at the wheels. Next a cold air intake is a very good mod. I had A 2000 GS and it made a little difference also made a diff in my GT Spyder. The intake I had on my GT retails for over $200 but I bought it off of someone on the neweclipse.org forums for $100 shipped. it was barely used and in 100% condition.

However to beat a stock SRT4 you want be doing it with intake. or even header and exhaust. they have some REally good turbo kits out there for your car very relieable and powerfull A.A.I. in florida makes a very well known kit and also F.I.A.S. both kits are nearly the same. it bumps the HP from about 110FWHP to 270FWHP that will beat a stock SRT4. There is a video of a RS with this turbo kit racing a modded SRT4 and winning on Club3g.com somewhere.

For all the info you need about your car try these sites www.neweclipse.org , www.club3g.com and www. eclipseforum.com all got some info club3g is the better of them all. tons of info there and you might find someone selling an intake for cheap
