a header will not make it deeper.  it will make it raspier.  it will sound like a honda with a header.  BTW guys I dont know what experience you have with "bypass" valves, but the ones from AEM that I have used in the past are nothing more than a foam like sponge insert to the pipe.  it is really pointless and wont do to much to help with water.

The arguement about short ram and cold air is stupid too because you can very easily make a cold air a short ram within minutes as needed.

i didnt know that about the bypass valves... i had just heard that they help keep water out... and yea a header wont help you much in the aspect ofperformance, it''ll just change the sound of ur car, and for the worst. like he said it''ll raspy and really ricey sounding

Yea dude, a header is gonna improve preformance in the Na car... But just remember its a na car and not a turbo. Car is stock slow... and will continue to be slow after your mods. Ive got basically the same car as you. Mine is an Eagle Talon but it has the same 420a engine in it.  If you plan on sinking money into your na car, like i have. I would reccomend a full exhaust, From the header all the way back. Get yourself some good plugs. Ngk Iriduims are a little expensive, but ive found to be the best plug in these na cars.  CAI is nice, but if not run right will throw your IAT sensor on high and low input, consider it a dummy light. Also get yourself a msd blaster coil pack and some plug wires.  keep us posted on your mods, and have fun.. hell thats whats its all about right?? peace.

Catback refers to just upgrading your exhaust frm the catalitic converter to the muffler.
I prefer megan racing myself

my friend said if i change the header and then make the pipes smaller to the muffler, or the muffler smaller, i wont get a raspy noise. possible?

no... stupid, now youre going for sound rather than performance... dont get a header you prolly wouldnt notice a big difference anyway
