i might sound like a noob, because im still learning. just had a few questions about a 99 gs
-im gona get a CAI, would it be appropriate for me in IL. hot as hell summers with rain but get wicked snow storms too in winter. a place i went to said the parts will come out roughly $250 + labor for AEM CAI. sound about right or naw?
-would it make sense or even fit on a gs to put in a intercooler or is that only for turbos?
-BOV are only for turbos too?
-does it matter if i get the CAI first or an exhaust. will it matter if the exhaust is still stock with a CAI

yeah intercoolers and bov''s are only for turbo cars, and no it doesn''t matter if you slap a cai or an exhaust on it first. and as for it being appropriate, maybe get a bypass valve so the motor doesn''t suck up all the water like this one http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=20

arite thanks for the info so far. somebody know where i can get the stuff that covers over the openings in the front bumper, i dont know like that screen stuff. becuase doesnt that block some debri from hitting/getting into the cai? i was looking into the venom 400. some people say its worth getting others say its total BS.

Dont get the venom chip. And dont worry about mesh for the CAI. It will be fine. IMO i would just get a short ram intake though. Its alittle cheaper and you wont have to worry about sucking in water.

right but then all you do is suck in hot air... if you get a bypass valve you''ll be fine

yea i thought the cai is a little better than getting a short ram. and ill get the bypass too. wouldnt it look nicer though if i put mesh on.

depends on where and what type of mesh you get. Chances are it will look more ricey than anything. But judging from the avitar pic, its already a bit ricey. And just so you know the HP difference between a short ram and a CAI is only gonna be about 2-4 HP total. So really your not gonna see much of a difference. Its not really gonna get much hotter air. Look at every turbo car, the intake is in the engine bay
