I''ve just inherited a 96'' RS eclipse halfway through an engine rebuild. I''ve managed to get the engine back together, but I have NO clue how to hook stuff up once I get it back inside the engine bay. Does anyone here happen to have a camera and an eclipse with a 420a sitting around by chance? :) Also: While ordering valve cover bolts from the dealer, I was told that washers were shown as going under the bolts, which were listed for 12$ a piece. Does anyone here know if those washers actually DO anything? Or if I can just grab them from a home depot or something else?

Well, I have an engine sitting out of the car, with no idea how things are bolted onto the block/ how the wiring harness is connected. And I''ve got ALOT of brackets. I also have a pile of bolts with no idea of what goes where. -_- This is going to be a nightmare, but I LOVE the look of these eclipses, inside and out. So to me it''s worth the trouble. And what better way to get acquainted with a car than to rebuild it yourself. :) Anyway, decent pictures of the wiring harness connections and how brackets are bolted up would be nice. Also, anyone have any idea what the washers under the valve cover bolts are for/look like? I''m picking up the entire set from the dealership and they want to charge me 12$ per washer. I''m wondering WHAT they must do to be so expensive.

I''ve done some more research and it looks like a dealership service manual for this car would help IMMENSELY. Anyone happen to have a copy of one they wouldn''t mind selling/ photo copying for their own "personal" use?

Just go to an auto parts store and pick up a haynes manual.

A haynes manual won''t quite cut it. I''ve GOT one handy, but it doesn''t give me 3-D explosions of the assembled parts. It WOULD have been useful had I disassembled this car myself, but it''s not going to do anything for me If I don''t know what went where and with what bolt.

Ok for starters those little "Shiney washers" are just for engine dress up, and if your gonna fall for paying $12 a piece for them. I would suggest buying parts from somewhere else. I have taken my valve cover off and there is no washers on mine. Now, where do we stand from there? What EXACTLY do you need a pic of? Is the engine complete? Or you missing the brackets off the engine? Post a pic of your engine from all 4 sides and i will TRY and help you out i have a couple pictures of my 420a on myspace www.myspace.com/1995talon

Ok, good. I decided to wait on those washers to make sure they weren''t important. I really just need some pictures of the brackets connected to the block, and how non-obvious stuff is bolted on. (I.E. I can bolt up the manifolds and thermostat, etc. with no problem. Engine mounts shouldn''t be too hard, I''m talking small brackets, random electrical wiring, heater hoses, stuff like that.)
