In Gen 1 of the outlander the area under the cargo area was this nice little useful storage area. It didnt hold anything big but was a great spot for bungie cords, first aid kit, and other things of that nature. In my 2007 XLS I have the 3rd row setting in the area that was this storage area. First off I wanna drive to the HQ and smack the person who decided my car should have a seats in the trunk and then say that it seats 7. No it seats 5 and then has two seats that are useless. The question I have is this does anyone know if the storage area panel and organization tray from the gen 1 is the same size as the area in the 2007. For those of you who dont have the 3rd row reject seats in yours what''s in this area? Do yours have the storage area!

I have an 08 ES that does not have the 3rd row seats. The bottom (floor) of my cargo area in the back can be lifted up and there is a 3 compartment storage area, about 33 inches by 20 inches by 3 inches deep. The 3 inches in depth obviously limits what you can put in there, but as you said in your posts its good for storing bungee cords, first aid kits, etc.

Any chance any one knows the part number for the storage area tray in the cargo area and also the cover? Would love to get those in place instead of my useless 3rd row of seats.

You should try to find someone that''s willing to swap the parts. I few months ago I rememebr someone asking how hard it would be to get the third row in. Personaly I use the 3rd row fairly often, since I have 2 young kids.

It looks to be the corporate Mitsubishi web interface that all dealers are using. Too hard to find things in my opinion. The final "view illustration" option once you found your part is nice though. As for the original post about the back seat. I love mine and use it regularly when hauling around a gang of kids. It is clearly not for adults, but my kids have never complained about it. I really appreciate the fact that it takes up so little room when stored, thus leaving a very large cargo area. Unfortunately, that leaves you with a small storage space if you do not want the seat. I came to the Outlander from a gen2 CR-V, and was dissapointed in the lack of any pockets or cubbies to store items such as you described. I have gone with the foldable storage bin which is great 90% of the time. It is just when I need to put large items in the cargo area and have to take it out or move it to the back seat that I really miss the storgae comparttments from the CR-V. That is the only thing that after a year of ownership that I still think Mitsu could have done much better with.

Thanks for your input on the website. The catalog is not a corporate interface but actually a website template that I leased to make online ordering more convenient. The ordering process, tracking, and payment side of the site is simple to use and very secure which is why i signed up. I''m open for any suggestions to improve navigating the main page If there is something you are looking for let me know, the corporate software I use is much more involved and accurate than you''ll see on the site.
