Hey guys, I''ve been looking at more photos of the Outlander XLS than I did when I was shopping for one before I picked up my 2008 XLS. Some of the photos I''ve seen of domestic (U.S.) versions have side skirts with a silver line, and some don''t. Mine doesn''t, sadly enough.. was this some kind of option.. or part of the protection package?

Note: Mine did come with OEM mud flaps though.. and apparently the area in front of the rear wheel wells have a 3m type film on them.

Are you sure they weren''t SE pictures, I beleive that it''s the only model that has the chrome.

bluebastion, recently I went to Long Beach, California, and I saw the side skid that you mention, in addition, the exterior handles of the doors are of chrome too, and has a short antenna with Sirius; I think that is a version XLS "limited". In Japan, the models 30MS and 30G have this side skid. . .

FiremistSLK, I saw a 2008 Outlander XLS with dealer in Long Beach, CA, with the chrome exterior door handles and side skid with a portion of chrome, but the dealer also have 2008 model XLS "normal". I did not take photos because I haven´t camera, but is Outlander can still be in Long Beach yet. . . maybe you could contact them to know more details about this “different” model. My ''08 SE has chrome handles and chrome sideskirts. I think it''s the only model with it.

I think he is talking about these....

They are side door garnishes, which are on Japan models and I think some EU models. No US models came with them. Zontahr.com has them in black only, not the silver. Basically you have to find a site that you can import them from.

Actually I am talking about is what-I-now-know-as what comes on the SE version. Its the "chromish" piece that looks like pseudo Nerf Bars Vdub85''s signature banner. I really wish these came on the XLS; to me it doesn''t make sense that they wouldn''t have come on the XLS if it''s the premium trim... but oh well. I don''t like how there''s nothing there stock.
