I am just wondering when putting high performance parts on the engine and exhaust system can I really save on gas or it depends on the parts that I will install?

they dont save on gas.   adding power usually means loss of MPG.  only time you save gas is if your tune is really that rich , like a stock Evo.  When you tune you lean it out quite a bit because its factory tune is untra rich.

My Evo was getting 200-230 miles per tank untuned (bolt on mods)  after a junk SAFC II tune I was getting like 260-300 miles per tank

Thank you for your honest opinion. I have been installing performance parts since cars used to have carburators.

I never remember that a performance parts can really save on gas.

I went to this other forum http://evoxtuners.com/
under Aftermarket Question that kid from Canada is claiming that he save gas on his Evo X by installing high performance parts especially with blow of valve.

thanks again

i didn''t read it but if you''re gunna say you get better gas mileage from a bov imma prolly laugh at you, cuz how you gunna save with performance parts unless your tune leans out your fuel curve like emonz said

A BOV will do nothing to help save gas nor use gas,  It has nothing to do with your fuel mix at all.  The exhaust and intake will change your milage but that is it.   Trust me when I tell you.  You will lose gas milage the more performance you add.   The Tune is the only thing that will help in the Evos case.

I modded an Evo from bone stock to a 400+AWHP car that runs mid 11s  The gas milage went from bad stock, to good with bolt ons and a tune to really bad with a turbo upgrade ,cams, and fuel system
