i just brought a 92 3000gt sl for 750 cash this weekend it has 114k on the motor and the trans was rebuilt 400 mils ago with a short throw kit and race clutch...the previous owner said the lifters needed to be replaced he started it one day and the idle was really ruff took it to his friends shop and the mechanic said he needed new lifters to be put in...how much is this gona cost me aprox...and lets say for the sake of argument the labor is like 85 an hr.

you shouldnt have to pay more than $5 per lifter. You can get them here

or try and see what they will charge you at the shop for them, So figure your looking at about 120 for the lifters. And id say install your looking for that motor about 2-4 hours i suppose. I would say plan on about 300-400. But this is just a guess by me. Im really not sure exactly what kinda time its gonna take

ok sounds good wut motor do i have in here i know its the 6g72 but is it the 12 or the 24-valve 3.0 OHC V-6

im pretty sure you would have the 24 valve which was why i said about 120 for the lifters. Just check the top of your head and see if it says SOHC or DOHC
