Hey, I''m getting a 94 eclipse for $800 bucks off a friend but he says it needs CV joints.  I asked around, since I''m not too mechanic friendly and everyone has been saying that I need the WHOLE axle (L & R) up front.  Is that true?  Is it worth buying it?  Any help would be great!

even if it needs the whole axle those are pretty cheap for these cars. However my questions would be what type of eclipse. (1.8, 2.0, FWD, AWD, turbo?) all things we need to know.

But just to let you know...yes if either or both of the front CV joints are gone, it is much easier to just replace the whole axle. But like i said, you can find those cheap

I think its worth imo, axles can be gotten cheap.  They are also pretty easy to install.
