This happens on every board I've been on. 

A little devil's advocate here...but what would be the appropriate action for adding to such a discussion?

If they would have started a new thread someone would complain about it being discussed before and not using the search button.

As long as something is added to the discussion, I don't have an issue and think that it's better to have it all in one thread versus 20 threads.

Personal preference I guess

I've seen a few threads where Sebba has posted the same comment about bringing up an old thread (as i've done here:) It's not like the forum is mad alive with conversation!! I see the same on a lot of forums. Most people don't mind it, but there are a few with a holier than thou attitude who comment "good job, you found an old thread", instead of expressing their opinion in a constructive and informative manner. But they don't bother me, so don't let them bother you. Besides, when these people respond to the thread aren't they bumping the "old" thread back to the top? Yes, but for whatever reason, that's fine with them. Go figure!
