I was just wondering. All you 3G Eclipse (V6 stock only) owners, I was wondering what kind of 60 foot times you guys are getting? And what kind of quartermile times are you getting?

After coming to this forum for advice, the best time that I have turned is a 10.065 in a 1/8 mile. I rode my clutch to a best 60 foot time of 2.24, I was turning 2.4's and higher before asking for help launching my car. My car is a 2001 V6 GT with a 5 speed, it is all stock including air cleaner and exhaust. These times were recorded at a temperature of @ 80 degrees, I hope that I can dip into the very high 9's on a cooler afternoon. I am not the best driver in the world and have not yet done a 1/4 mile pass, I am also curious what other GT owners have done in the 1/4 mile and their mph.

i do not technically have an eclipse, but as you may know, my car is almost the exact same, basically with a very intricate body kit. unfortunately, i have an autostick, and i think that yours is a manual. my 60' times very from 2.39-2.45, and my best quarter mile times are 16.1 around 86.5-87 mph. however, i have ordered some solid mounts as i have been racing with torn front and rear motor mount...

and for anyone who doesnt believe that an autostick is nearing the 15s, yes i do have timeslips. ALL i have done with the 16.1 runs was 15 inch tires on the front (big help) CAI, catback. that was with full interior, and my full system, with the spare removed. that track is a bit slower than the track that i am going to shortly, as my other car runs about .15 faster at norwalk than at PRP, and PRP was where my car turned in the 16.1. i will have the front and rear solid mounts at norwalk, and im going to take some interior out...and its a faster track, so id be very pleased to get into the 15s.

2.2 would be a good number to try to get with that car. lower your tire pressure and practice

I don't have a problem hooking up. When stage at the track i smash the brake and smash the gas (the car holds) and i launch at 2000 rpms. and the best i can get is 2.50sec

are you auto? if so theres your problem right there. If your manual then launch higher and ride the clutch

what i have done, which REALLY helps, get yourself some 15 inch wheels and low pro tires for the track...thats what i did, hence my 2.39-2.45 60s...

I bracket race this car so I prefer the automatic trans. But I can launch at 2k rpms. What kind of 60 ft. times do think manuals get?

the smaller tire helps in two ways...

1. rotational mass- when you have a smaller and lighter tire/rim package, it takes less effort on the engines part, this more horsepower reaches the ground. for instance, if you were to dyno your car with a set of motegi tracklites, then take them off and bolt up a set of 20" chromed steel dubs, your dyno numbers would be better with the tracklites because youre wasting horsepower to move the wheels.

2. increased drive ratio...the smaller the tire, the greater your gear ratio is. when you have a smaller tire, it takes less work by the engine to make one full rotation since a full rotation is shorter. this increase in gearing allows for quicker acceleration, it is sort of a poor-mans way to change the gearing.

i just found another timeslip..actually faster than my slip in the MF timeslips section..

catback, CAI, thermostat, 15 inch steelies with kumho supra 711s, FULL interior with sub box/amp..
