Hey I just picked up a 2000 Eclipse GT,and am new to the import world, with a few questions. I was wondering what the best short throw shifter is out there,is it worth going with a short throw shifter in this car?The shift is nice, but I am just wondering if any aftermarket companys out there can offer SIGNIFICANT(sp?) improvement??? Also can I do the swap at my house with hand tools and jack stands,or will I need a lift?

Besides a shifter, what other mods are the most popular? I already have the K&N FPIK intake.Who makes the best headers....etc....Sorry for all the questions,I am just hoping to give my ride a little pep.I have been into cars and racing for 10 years now,but I saw this car and for 4 grand I couldnt pass it up.I got it for the gas miliage, because with all of my other cars being V-8's and half of them running on 104 oct. fuel, the gas bill alone is killing me!
thanks

I would go with the twm performance short shifter, it worked really well on my '02 and is about a 45 minutes install, great look, great throw, worked for me!

most 3G owners prefer the ebay short shifters.
It's way cheaper than B&M and performs just as good.
It does'nt make too much of a differance for me but it was deffinatley worth the 30 bucks i paid for it.

most short shofters do little. they do shorten the shift but they also increase shift effort and the cheaper ones will decrease shifting accuracy. if anything just replace the shifter mounts with some stiffer mounts thatl make a huge difference.
