I'll post updated figures again once I've had my first oil change. Right now I've only clocked 1500+ miles on my 06 Outlander.

Off Topic: See what your car will look like with different wheels.

They don't have the model for the 1st gen Outlander though. The bastards.
I used the Endeavor.

I bought Dirtwagon's old '04 AWD Outlander: dismal 19-21mpg.
This blows.  I'm happy with the car overall, but the mileage leaves much to be desired.

i have approx. 6200 miles on my '06 LS awd manual trans and have avg'd so far 21 mpg; my daily 9-mile commute to work being of the stop and go variety almost the entire way depending on the exact route.  the only long trips i've taken thus far have been the 100 or so miles down the nj parkway to atlantic city with it's several toll stops once, and several 50-mile trips north along the same parkway to drop one of my kids off at her college dorm on the nj-ny line (about 50 miles south of those orange county chopper guys) where i've usually gone the 100-mile roundtrip on a little less than a quarter tank even going 65-70 mph; but all that daily stop'n go just kills the mileage, especially being in 4-wd all the time....my '93 awd expo w/ manual trans also
avg'd about 21-22 mpg's until it got around 10,000 or so when it started to get up to about 23-24 mpg avg.
now at 250,000 plus miles, it's way down around 20, unless a long trip raises it a little.  generally, quick starts, shifting at higher than necessary rpm's, and speeds over 45-50 mph all reduce mileage.  what is one to do...?

Has anyone noticed that the Miles to empty gauge is off or not reliable. I have an 07' first time it was pretty accurate 285 miles on full tank.
Then I filled it up again and it only says 180 til empty now, and I'm on a flat surface and I know that is not correct.
Any info.....

I got 41 MPG on a recent trip...it's much better than the old Outlander.
