well thats weird that Mobil 1 would tell you to change your oil every 3-4k when they are marketing an oil that they GUARANTEE will last 15k. wheres the logic in that?

also Amsoil recommends draining the oil up to 25k with their 5w-30 synthetic oil.

so where are you getting your information from? cause obviously it is wrong

also from GM's site...
quote:

In general, most people that drive a combination of city and highway find that the GMOLS will indicate an oil change every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. GM data shows the OLS extends oil change intervals without risk to the engine.

quote:

According to GM's Mike McMillan, "Certainly there is technology available to raise the standard and extend the drain interval without compromising engine durability or removing the performance cushion ... Europe is already at a 9,000 mile drain interval and is seriously considering twice that".

but im sure these companies are just publishing **** on the web just for ****s and giggles

so you're saying that Mobil 1 is marketing their extended performance oil for 15k mile intervals, all while they recommend you to change your oil every 3000 miles with the "regular" SuperSyn oil?

can you show me where Mobil 1 specifically states that you should change your oil every 3000 miles?

it says it right on there web site when you look at the regular supersyn oil reccomened matinance schedual is manufacture recomened than below it will stat other than mobil 5000/7500/mobil1 extened preformance"15000"

here is a link to the warentee on the oil like it says only garentee what it says in the owners manuel!
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_Warranty.aspx
in other words you know how your manuel says 3000 miles if you dont follow they will not garentte the viscosity of the oil to hold up and protect the motor with regular supersyn.
