Are Montero's front wheel drive?

I am looking to buy a Montero and I was not considering 2wd because of winter driving. Does the 2wd do ok in this weather? Are they, in fact, front wheel drive?

All full size Montero's come with 4WD STANDARD and cannot be purchased in 2wd. If you are referring to the Montero Sport (a completely different vehicle), it is a RWD system. It comes with a "winter mode" switch that allows you to start forward motion in 2nd gear (reducing the likelyhood of a spinning your tires), but it may not be enough if the weather is severe enough. I'd highly recommend the 4wd or A4wd Montero Sports if you get very severe winter conditions in your area. Good Luck!

All montero sports are rear wheel drive and the full size monty are 4wheel drives

The Montero Sports come in either RWD, 4WD or AWD depending on year.

Here in alaska, anything rear wheel drive is considered a summer toy.

The Endeavor is a front drive so that may be an option as well.
