Hey guys I just recently bought a '04 lancer evo VIII and I was wondering what type of exhaust you guys recomend for a deep throaty sound? I also wanted to know if I need to buy a full cat-back system or just the muffler? (mainly for sound not performance cause i don't race much) I also wanted to buy an aftermarket BOV (blow off valve) but i don't know which one to get. Please help me guys. Thanks

Wow, i don't have that much experience in Evo's, but from what i read on the Evolution sites, a lot of guys go with the RSR exhaust.  Of course if you get the full catback the car will sound much better, but the muffler may just give you the kind of sound you're looking for.  If you are just getting a muffler, the Apexi N1 is a good buy.  It sounds pretty good on most stock exhaust systems, not buzzy and high pitched, but lower and more of a growl when coming off idle.  Hope you have fun in the EVO

There aren't many aftermarket parts for the Evo VIII's out there yet but you can find them if you search hard.  Get a turbo-back system for your exhaust.  Most of the ones out there as of yet are pretty good from what I've read.  Most aftermarket blow-off valves should work with a few minor adjustments to your stock piping, but if you can afford to I would suggest going ahead and getting hardened piping and mounting the new BOV onto it rather than the stock piping.  I agree about the Apexi N1 exhaust SpyderGS.  I have it on my car and it sounds extremely good at both low and high RPM's.
