Think about it. When you're car is sitting in the driveway runnning warming up cuz it's freezin cold and you let it run for 15-20 minutes how many miles does the car get on it? Though I'm SURE the factory doesn't do a FULL break in I'm guessing they do enough to get everything lubed nicely and ensure the engine is running before shipping it and that's probably about the extent of it.

it can take up to 3000 miles for oil to work its way into all the crevices. I was not saying that the car needs to be broken in to use synthetic, I was saying that synthetic is so thin and slippery it can make its way through seals such as a valve cover gasket, head gasket, etc, and then you have a forever leaking motor

I understand what your point is i just was saying motors sould be broken in from factory look at how people test drive cars they do stuff that may cause the seating of the rings as well as other aspects of a breakin to be totaly bassed acwards. Think about it how many people test drive a car like old people dirve. Not i i wanna see the pickup donut turning radius and so on :) It would be stupid for the factory not to break it in plus i have heard from many people they do come broken in.
