I have had my 2002 GT for about two weeks now. This past day or two we have had an huge amount of rain and have been driving in it and driven through some puddle of standing water too.

Now... I have noticed a leak from under the dashboard on the drivers side on the left. When I have my left foot on the little "pad" or whatever it is, I get an occasional drip on my foot. I felt up underneath the dash and I can feel water on the wires under the dash.

It's not a LOT of water. But it's still some sort of leak in the car.

I have read of others having water on the drivers side floor, but no mention of any water leaking from under the dash.

Some of the other leaks have been traced to a rubber boot that seals the wires going through the firewall.

HELP !!! Any ideas or suggestions ???

Thanks, Tim

LOL well are you SURE it's water? It COULD be antifreeze which would indicate a heater core leak. Otherwise I'd start checking the firewall for ANYWHERE were the water MIGHT get through. This includees searching from the underside as well.

I had a heater core leak once it cracked on the steel inlet tube but when it leaked it ran down into my carpet never did it drip. It sure soaked my carpet and turned it kinda orangeish for a while. that sucked. But changing the heater core sucked even more!

I'm sure it's water. Taste and smell proved it ! (YUK !!! )

I've blown out the Sunroof Drains, but only the front two... can't see or get to anything in the back.

The front ones "seemed" to be free but can't say 100%.

Next I am trying to figure out how to remove the black plastic screen thingy from that's under
the windshield wipers to gain access to some fresh air vent drains under there to see if they are clogged up.

Any one know how to remove that black plastic screen without breaking it ??

Thanks, Tim

Have you been running AC lately? Tried clearing the AC condenser drain? Should be a little tub under the car somewhere.

Yes, we have been running the A/C.

Can you tell me just "where" to look for those tubes ? Or "ANY" tubes to clear out in fact.

I have a compressor and can blow them all out if I can just FIND the Damn things !!!

I did the sunroof drains with no trouble at all.

Thanks for the suggestions.... kepp 'em coming ....

Tim

It's differnet on different cars. If you remember seeing a puddle after sittin stopped for a while with the AC running that willl give you a general idea of where to look for that one. It should be close to the firewall likely on the passenger side of the car. You don't need a compressor but a coathanger works GREAT to clear THAT one out.

Your evaporator drain is clogged and causing water to leak on the floor.
