Can a turbo be put on the 420A motor?...and if it can be done what are the chances of it blowing sky high?

Anything can be done to a engine with $$$ It depends on what sort of turbo you want to run as well? To "blow it sky high".

I had a friend run the stock 420A on 6 psi daily.  The motor lasted 5 months before it self-destructed.  He didn't drive the car hard at all either.  But once he replaced the motor and built it he hasn't had any problems with it at all.  Runs 18 psi daily, and has a high boost of 26 psi.  Very strong motor

there are alot of turbo kits well a couple out there designed to run on the stock 420 block. I would suggest building the block the bottom end at the least first that way you can beat on the car. The motor is good for boost but only in a small amount without further mods.We at Dreamspeed have boosted the 420a motor w/ nitrous oxide and had better results than the guys who went turbo. Safe and more power for less money.   600.00 compared to 4000.00 dollars is alot for the same result if you dont want to build the motor. You can safely run a 50 shot wet kit no problems evrey day on the stock motor.

A engine shop, and you will probably will need to beef up your transmission also.
