My 2006 Eclipse GT has a tire size of P235/45 R18 94V. I want to mount Blizzak winter tires on steel rims but I am unsure what size rims and tires will fit my car. I know that the 06 Eclipse GS uses tire size P225/50 R17 93V so I should be able to go with a 17" rim which will save me some money on the tires.

I was wondering if anyone has mounted winter tires on steel rims for the 2006 Eclipse yet? If so, what size steel rims and tires did you mount? Are 16" even possible?

17's should be fine but if your driving in snow, you may want to make sure the 17's are gonna have enough rubber wrapped around it to keep ur ride on the road....other wise ur 06 is gonna wind up in a body shop.

and yes 16's are even possible you just gotta have the right lug nut spacing size on your steel rims

you know what?? if, i have an 06....i'll keep that in the garage, till the winter is over. my buddy of mine from utah, he's sportin top of the line rx-8. drove it during winter time, and hell the front lip came off.(driving on the snow) wk. later, he freguin hit a anttelope....

I wouldn't do either...Put it in storage for the winter and buy a $1000 beater to drive and break the eclipse out in the Spring...I live in Pennsylvania and we get a ton of snow so I store my '99 Eclipse GS-T in the winter time, actually I put it away in mid-October and break it out at the end of April..So in the winter time I drive my beater ass 1994 Jeep Cherokee with 151,000 miles...Not afraid of hurting that beast LOL...Putting the Eclipse away for winter keeps the road salt off of it and from rotting it out plus it'll keep the paint nice too.

Some people don't HAVE the option of waiting till winter is over. Or winter is so long that it leaves very little time to break out the new car. You just have to look at the lug pattern and hole spacing you should be able to find rims to fit it somewhere. But make sure you have the rubber on them to make a difference without rubbing the inside of the wheel well.

if u wanna know the lug nut, spacing some tire websites will tell you how to measure for it or call up a local tire dealer like tire king or discount tire....whatever you have by you and they can probably tell you how to measure for it.....but if u can afford it, store your '06 over the winter.
