Hey guys, New to the forum and need some help. I own a 2001 V6 Galant. Today while heading to the doctors office the car stopped accelerating. I thought my wife had bumed me into neutral. She hadn't. The motor would free spin just as if it were in neutral but would not engage drive in any gear or reverse. Oh, BTW, this is an automatic transmission. The car will go into park and engage fine, but none of the running gears will engage.

Anyone seen this before? Possible problems and fixes?

Thanks in advance for any and all help or comments.

Dave

Aside from checking your fluid level, there is really no other checks you can do. I have my suspicions on what went on with the transmission, but we can compare my thoughts with what the shop finds once you have it towed in. Hopefully you're under the 60K powertrain warranty cutoff. Good Luck!
