When internally gated the turbo has boost creep, apparently the wg flapper cant release the exaust gas fast enough which causes overboosting. If you going for a stock setup get it with the ported exaust housing and all.

For a direct fit i am not sure i dont own a 4g63, I think a kit is needed but most places that sells them modernperformance, sbracing, machv sell it as an entire kit.

Yes it is a good turbo for the money. Personally I would go with a disco potato but its more expensive and dosent produce the same peek horse power, but its a BB turbo so theres very little lag. But with the EVO III a good fuel system and proper tuning people have been turning out impressive dyno numbers and track times.

yes it does come with the wasetgate, asking whish is better is well complicated. It depends on the application, the setup of the application and so forth.

For stock/ low boost levels the internal can be used sucessfully. Where so can the external. The external howere can provided solid boost pressure continusly if the manifold is constructed correctly. If the manifold favors the wastegate you get more percise boost pressure and consistanece. But you get a slower spool time, where if the manifold favors the turbo you get a quicker spool time but that may result in boost creep. SO its a catch 22. Also the external is much more technical but the plus side to that set up is its like a boost controler but more reliable. You can adjust the boost pressure to what you want depending on the WG some come at a pre set limit like the Star stage one turbo kits for the 420a. Also with a external WG need to be recirculated for DD where tial ones cant be.

The top one is an internal gated turbo, notice the yellow actuator bolted onto the compressor housing. It has an arm hooked up to it that conrtols a flapper inside the hot sid of the exaust. When the boost reaches a certian level dicatated by the spring pressure in the actuator(yellow thing) it pushes the arm which opens the flapper letting exaust gas bypass the compressor wheel thus keeping the boost at a certian level.

On the bottom is a external gated setup. The external gate is like a bov. Once a certian pressure is achieved the exaust gas is released via the valve inside it. This can be vented under the hood or recirculated(like a bov) into the rest of the exaust past the turbo. An external WG is alot more complicted(thats What i was getting at earlier) the construction of the manifold and choice of spring in the wastegate all play a crucial part in the way that your system will perform.

first....is your Caps Lock key broken? you might want to get that fixed.

second... read this... http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm . it seems that you don't know much about turbos and how they work. you first need to learn about them before modding them.

third....a 1G GST/GSX does not need a kit to work with the 16G. The 2G GST/GSX does.

i think you need to also learn what a wastegate is and how it works.

me, personally, i would go with an external wastegate.
