Hey guys. At the moment I'm not an owner of an Mitsubishi vehicles, but I'm planning on buying a 1997 Eclipse RS off a friend soon. It has 90k mi on it, good exterior, good interior, front tires were just replaced, and some work on the engine has been done but I haven't got that information just yet. Seem like a good Eclipse to start out with?

Later guys,

Ok guys.. I just got some info on what the owner has did to the engine and what not.. tell me if you think it sounds good or bad.

1997 Eclipse RS
90k mi
$3,500

work done:
• 2 new front tires
• oil sending unit
• head gasket
• timing belt
• flushed radiator & replaced coolant
• recharged AC system
• new rotors & brake pads
• new battery

No exterior blimishes. Inside looks good. The back window tint is bubbling up a little. Everything else is stock.

Have you driven it yet? Does it make any weird sounds?

I've driven it twice actually, lol. It was fine to me. Only 2 things I noticed was a slight buzz/hiss sound from the right side of me.. not sure how to explain it.. it was very very faint.. I had a friend in the car with me when I test drove it the second time and he couldn't even hear it... that's how faint it was... the other thing is, it can get up and go, but once it shifts to second gear it feels like the gas pedal isn't doing anything.. kind of like the engine is bogged down.. but it only lasts for a second, then it kicks in... Didn't seem like a major problem to me. Felt like I was driving my moms big chevy blazer for a second, hehe. Other than that, car seems great. I'm already going to buy it. Even if it has some issues that need working out, its a huge step from my ****ty 1991 Lumina.

they aren't backing from $3500. I'm getting it tomorrow afternoon. I'm not doubting myself for it either.
