I have a completely stock 1993 VR-4 with about 45,xxx on the motor. I'm looking at www.3sxperformance.com right now and I see boost controllers for sale for like $80. How hard is it to install these? How much boost can it handle completely stock? How do they work exactly? Do I need to install other parts with this part? What kind of power gains will I see?

Hiya,

You should go check out 3si.org under the AWD section. You can find a wealth of information regarding your car there. Regarding the boos controller, I assume your talking about a manual one. The stock 9b turbos will hold about 10psi to redline. You can spike them much higher than that. I believe that the stock boost controller on your car is set to 12psi "double check that" What you really need is a way to monitor knock. I use a scanmaster3 to monitor my car so I know how much boost is safe. Turning up the boost wth a manual controller and not having a way to monitor the car is playing russian roulette with your motor.
