My friend's 2000 Eclipse was rearended while waiting at a red light the other day. The other driver claimed that the mitsu changed lanes and slammed into him - as a result my frined got cited and has to pay for all the damages.
I was wondering if the 2000 Eclipse has an Event Data Recorder in the airbag system... And does it record near-deployment events? (The airbags were not deployed, but the accident was about 10-15mph.
All he would need to do is show that the car was not moving in the seconds leading up to the crash and he will be exhonorated...
