Hey guys. Heres my dilema.  I am getting a in dash dvd player for my car, but i just found out that when the car is in gear the player will be unable to play dvd's.  I also heard that you can hook it up special so that it will be able to play dvds anyways.  Can somebody plz tell me how you do this?  if it matters it will be going into a 2004 spyder gts and the player is pioneer's avh-p7500dvd

Its only 1 wire, it wouldnt be attached to cars wiring harness with the speakers and would be reletively thick. I also have a pioneer dvd player i just snipped the wire when i had the diagram in front of me. Lets see red is the hot wire black is ground yellow is ilum and blue is remote so how many you got left after that? Hope this helps if not ill pull my deck out and see which one it actually is, cause i cant get enough of watching dvds and driving long distances.

It's a safety feature basically, not to distract the driver i'm more than sure there are ways around it.
