Does any one know what 8.0:1 pistons do that the stock ones don't? Does it mean I can boost higher?

8.0:1 CR pistons will allow you to run more boost without having to run race gas. it also keeps the heat down.

also, most likely, they are forged which makes them able to handle more punishment.

I will be getting my gst back this week aftr getting the engine rebuilt. How long should I break it in and put a mbc on it. Also how much crank hp will the stock clutch hold? I want to run like 13 or 14 lbs but I don't want the clutch to be slipping.

my mods are
type s bov
3' tusudo exhaust turbo back
injen intake
geddy intercooler piping
16g turbo

most places will tell you to do a 1000 mile break-in period with a new engine build. there are a couple of things that you need to do during this period.

you should let the engine run for about 20 mins, changed the oil, 200 miles, change the oil, 200 miles, change the oil, and give it a lil boost, about 4-5 psi, another 300 miles, change the oil, then beat the piss out of it. you should try to stay out of boost for the first 500 miles or so.

also, do a compression test before you start adding boost.

when you are driving, don't just stay at one constant RPM. you need to put different loads on the engine. and it is ok to hit 4k RPMs occasionally. it will help seat the piston rings. but don't do it that often in the beginning.

your clutch should be fine for a while with that amount of boost.
