I have a 2001 Eclispe GS. Sometimes, from a cold start, I try to shift my car into gear, It is automatic. The button on the knob will not move. I have to take off the knob and get the little white stick to move down. It happens rarely but it never happened last winter. I was wondering if anyone else had that kind of problem and maybe what is causing it.

NExt time you take the knob off, try applying some white grease or silicone grease on the white plastic part of the stick. Also, make sure you've fully depressed the brake pedal. Good Luck!
