why not try but I really think it wont be that close, and dont sell your car. the 4G64 has so much potencial to be fast of course with some $$ that is but keep in mind the DSM eclipse turbo manifold bolt right up to your motor so making a turbo kit isnt nessesarily hard. There are a few 5spd eclipse GS's that live near me and they have over 300HP at the front wheels with tearstones turbo kit. and stock at the front wheels they are only 110hp so that is a huge difference.

Thing of it is...i dont know all the parts that makeup a turbo...it'd be so much more convenient for a kit to be sold on ebay that wasnt so expensive like the 3k+ ones i see on some car sites...i dont want the hassle of finding every little part, i just want a whole kit and get it installed go boom..im off to the races

Yah i have the same motor...i really like the 4 cylinder in terms of pickup...but once i hit 70 mph theres hardly ANYTHING under that pedal, takes me forever to hit 100+....will a catback system really improve the performance a lot?? isnt it like 5-10 horsepower??

YES it will DEFINATELY be something you'll feel. I've said this before and I'll relate the story again. I have an '03 Sentra and the flex hose blew out. Basically leaving open path from the cat to the atmosphere. It was loud as shyt but she got up and went. I noticed a MARKABLE decrease in the pickup when I replaced the flex hose finally. (And I topped my Sentra out the most I got on flat terrain in a straight line was about 120 MPH.) As for the parts making up a turbo... That will be a LARGE undertaking. You have to change the ECU the exhaust manifold, add the intercooler, turbo, and oil cooling lines, BOV and intake... Not to mention the fuel system depending on how big a turbo you get you'll possibly need bigger injectors and a higher capacity fuel pump.
Anyways yes the 4G64 has potential. That's actually the sme engine in my Stratus. One of these days I'll get off my behind and actually do something with it LOL... I think first thing will be a paint job...
