ive been driving my 91 gs for about 1000 miles now and havent had any problems out of it, and today i was driving it and i was going 70 and it started jerking pretty bad and finally died, so i coasted to the side of the road and cranked it back up and drove it back home like nothing was ever wrong with it, what do yall think happened?

That's a tough one to call... It could have been something clogging the fuel filter/pump, it could have been an electrical problem. Did the Check engine light come on at all? Any new sounds come from the vehicle? Anything else happen that was noticably different?

I'd venture to give a highly educated guess that your ECU is starting to take a dump on you. Since it's still intermittant, chances are you can still salvage it by replacing the the failed components (capacitors) on the PC board. This is a VERY COMMON problem to all early 90's Mitsubishi's (not just the Eclipse) model lineup. CLICK HERE TO HYPERLINK OVER TO MORE INFO ABOUT YOUR ECU. I've rebuilt the ECU on both my 93 Eclipse and my 92 3000GT- it's not too hard if you have the right tools and some patience. Good LUck!
