What is the black box above my rear view mirror, attached to the windshield, with wires comming out of it on my 01 gt? I have looked everywhere for the answer.

It could be a keyless entry thing , or some type of alarm reciever..

does it say "RESPONDER TECHNOLOGY" on it? if so, i have the same thing on my '00 eclipse and, sorry, but i have no idea what it is either, ive been trying to figure that out from day 1

I always thought that was for the compass feature... i could be wrong??

push the mode button on you clock pod. that should be the compass.

do you have a sunroof? if not, i would suspect it must be the compass sensor.

the box on my windshield is about 1/4" thick. it's got an antenna stickin out about 5" on the driver and passenger side. when i push my mode button, nothing happens
