Just to add: Timing the balance shafts is crucial of the engine will vibrate like a mofo at high engine speeds. The balance shaft driven by the small belt just need to line up with the mark on the oil pump case with no special procedures. The second balance shaft driven by the oil pump drive gear is the one that may give you trouble. The best way to do it is to rotate the engine until all marks are lined up (cam, crank, small belt, AND OIL PUMP/BALANCE SHAFT GEAR. This oil pump/balance shaft gear will only line up with everything once every three engine rotations- just keep rotating the engine until it lines up the same time the other gears do. Once you do that, go ahead and remove everything as given in the directions. ONce you remove the timing belt from the oilpump/balance shaft gear, the gear will rotate due to the weight of the balance shaft. Simply line it up on the mark during reassembly. If you remove the timing belt while the oil pump gear is NOT timed with the rest- you'll have to go through a lengthy procedure to get it back in time.
Before buttoning the timing cover back up, be absolutely sure the cam/crank timing is ON THE MONEY. This IS an interference engine and you will not get a second chance at getting it right. Good luck!
